How to Give to Safenet Services and Help Victims of Domestic Violence

Generosity is a wonderful characteristic of our community. We remain grateful for all the gifts of expertise, time and dollars that Safenet clients receive from our friends in Rogers and Mayes Counties. And, we rely on that same help to continue our mission to end domestic violence for the women and children in Oklahoma.

We all recognize that the need is great. One in 4 women are victims of domestic violence. It is often a hidden problem, but the more we know and talk about domestic violence openly, the better chance we have to stop it in its tracks—before someone is severely hurt or killed. Young people who witness domestic violence are prone to repeat the cycle, but it isn’t a given. You make the difference changing lives through your support.

This is a star to make a wish on. I would wish for a house where nobody cried, they had toys, and my mom never was sad or got hit again.

Misti is the mother of three children under 8 years old. The kids saw their father beat her until she couldn’t stand up. In tears, 6-year-old Josh called 9-1-1. The family arrived at the shelter tired and ready for a change at 1:00 am. Misti is determined that her children will not follow in their father’s footsteps.
