The statistics of sexual assault in the United States are staggering. One in five women and one in 71 men are raped at some point in their lives. Awareness is the key to prevention.
In an effort to raise more awareness, Safenet is hosting our 9th annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes® event on Saturday, April 6th at the Lynn Riggs (Gazebo) Park. To learn more about the event and register, click here.
Additionally, we recognize the National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s theme this year, I Ask. “Sexual Assault Awareness Month is a campaign to raise public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it. The campaign theme, I Ask, champions the message that asking for consent is a healthy, normal, and necessary part of everyday interactions.” To learn more about the I Ask campaign, click here.
